Transmission

High-voltage transmission lines, substations and power evacuation infrastructure.

Transmission & Evacuation Infrastructure

KNBEPC develops and maintains high-voltage transmission infrastructure that evacuates power from generation stations and delivers it reliably into the national grid. Our work spans transmission lines, outdoor substations and associated switchyards.

Key Infrastructure Components

  • Transmission Lines: High-voltage corridors that transport bulk electricity over long distances, connecting generation hubs to load centres.
  • 330/132/11kV Substations: Step-up and step-down substations that regulate voltage, improve grid stability and enable safe distribution.
  • Power Evacuation Lines: Dedicated lines connecting generation plants to the main transmission network, ensuring power reaches the grid efficiently.
  • Water Abstraction Facilities: Supporting hydraulic systems that enable reliable hydropower generation and reservoir management.

Commitment to Grid Reliability

We apply modern engineering standards and environmental safeguards in the design, construction and maintenance of our transmission assets, ensuring safe and sustainable power delivery for Zambia.
