The Corporation is currently constructing a 100MW solar PV Plant through an EPC contractor that is located in Chisamba in the Central province of Zambia.This plant will supply power to ZESCO through a Power Purchase Agreement. The goal of the project is to increase power supply to the national grid.

Project Challenge

The project encountered many challenges that where faced during the intial stages and the final stages which include.

Result

The agreement resulted in signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ZESCO Limited and Sinohydro of China for construction of an additional 360MW of generating capacity at Kariba North Bank Power Station.
